The Sierra #3 steam locomotive was built in 1891, by Rogers Locomotive Works in Paterson, New Jersey, and is one of the few locomotives from this era, still in operation.

The Sierra #3 became a movie star, as early as the 1920’s when she was discovered by Hollywood producers. She has starred in over one hundred movies and television productions, including High Noon with Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, The Great Race starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Natalie Wood, Back to the Future III with Michael J. Fox, and On TV in Lassie, Petticoat Junction, Little House on the Prairie, and many more.
